Post-MRI

We are so appreciative of everyone’s phone calls, texts, and emails, but we’re having a very hard time updating everyone who wants to be updated, so hopefully this blog will be helpful.  We promise – whenever we learn something new, we’ll post it here, so you can always come here for the newest information.  If it we haven’t posted in a while . . . then it means there’s nothing new to report.  Please feel free to leave comments – once Mama is up and running again, I’m sure she’d love to see your thoughts.  And, as always, we welcome as much prayer as we can get!

Today Mama had an MRI, and after about 7 hours, we finally got the results – “it looks good.”

After her surgery the area around her brain that had been filled with blood was now filled with air (which is normal). The CT scan on day 2 showed that there was a little blood in that area as well.  The MRI today showed that some of that air and blood have been reabsorbed by the body, which is exactly what we want to happen (it just takes a while).

Other than that, it’s been an uneventful day.  She’s still in a coma, and they’re expecting she’ll probably still be until morning.  Here’s hoping she’ll be awake tomorrow!

  1. I hope everything continues to go as planned and your mom has a quick road to recovery. I love you and were praying for your famly.

  2. I am so glad that you came up with this blog. We have all been calling each other to get the latest. It sounds like so far all of the news has been pretty good. We have all been praying for you and Aunt Debbie. Please do not hesitate to call if you need anything. We are always here.

    Love,

  3. I’m so happy that Lindsay has the wherewithall to start a blog! And, like her mother has done in the past about many things, is very kindly thinking of all of us who would like to keep up with Debbie’s progress.

You are all in my prayers, and I hope that her eyes will open soon, her smile will return and all of you will feel surrounded in love by the number of people praying and concerned for you.

    1. Lindsey, Bo and David. I am praying every day for Debbie’s continued progress. Debbie is such a special person in my life and I thank you so much Lindsey for calling me to let me know. I have a Bible Study group on Tuesday at 7:00 and we are all praying for her. I am asking all my Christian friends to please pray and I am positive God is hearing our prayers. I know you are very anxious to see that pretty smile on Mom’s face when she wakes up. I will be checking the website each day to see the progress and I will especially be praying for the procedure tomorrow to take care of the clots in her arms. I love the pictures of your family on the website. What a beautiful family. I have so many fond memories of when your family lived here in Albany and can’t believe you and Bo are all grown up now. I can still remember that early morning call I got when Debbie was in labor with Bo and I came over to sit with you while Dad took Mom to the hospital. You went into the closet and wouldn’t come out until I tricked you with a tootsie roll. Wow, those were fun times!!! Take care Lindsey and I Love You All, Sharon Knight

  4. David informed me yesterday about your condition. We are praying for you and expect you to return home in the very near future.

All the prayers I received just two years ago with my liver transplant were very comforting to me and my family. It all worked out well and it will with you.
